9000 Series Battery Electric
Compacting Rubbish Truck

In 2011 Zero Emission Vehicles Ltd won the tender to supply a New Zealand regional council with a battery electric compacting rubbish truck. This was a world first design incorporating dual electric traction motors and gearbox integrated electric hydraulic power take off.

Voltra Battery Electric
Underground Mine 4x4

In 2017 the company successfully designed the first fully operational battery electric utility vehicle for approved use in underground mines in Australia.

The Voltra was designed to utilise the popular Toyota Landcruiser platform but was heavily modified to be 100% battery electric and zero emission.

Designed and built from the EVNet philosophy the vehicle has proved reliable, robust, safe, and popular with operators and management.

Any underground mine is one of the harshest operating situations possible for vehicles and the Voltra is living proof that well designed battery electric vehicles can play their part in reducing carbon emissions in such a hostile environment.

eSherpa Battery Electric
Farm Feeder Wagon

The Sherpa is a farm feeder machine built by long standing German company B. Strautmann & Söhne. The original vehicle employed a diesel traction motor with hydraulic milling heads.

Following an introduction to ZEV whilst visiting New Zealand the Chairman of Strautmann invited the company to collaborate on the design and construction of a fully battery electric variant of the Sherpa – the eSherpa.

The eSherpa design has been an enormous success in trials and the Strautmann company has now taken the decision to make a complete switch in their product line from diesel powered machines to battery electric using KAHU EV’s designs and EVNet.
